Paranormal research

The Association for the Scientific Study of Anomalous Phenomena (ASSAP) has been investigating the weird seriously (and the seriously weird) since 1981. Our main aims are paranormal research and education.

Anomalous phenomena include psychic phenomena (including ghosts, ESP), UFOs, Forteana and earth mysteries.

We specialise in:

We publish a newsletter, ASSAP News and a journal, Anomaly, as well as an online blog and facebook group. To attend investigator courses and receive the printed publications you need to join. ASSAP is a registered charity in the UK.

What's new?

Misperceived woman

Is this a ghost? A woman in grey was seen hear seconds earlier. To find out, see the ASSAP Paranormal Blog.

Have you ever experienced something weird while on the point of falling asleep? Or even felt weird on a motionless escalator? If so, you may have had a near-sleep experience. These unusual states of consciousness could explain several paranormal phenomena, including NDE and OOBEs.

Things to try here ...

Spot the ghost

Can you 'spot the ghost' in some photos? Try our online ESP experiment. Take our 'weird things that vanish' research survey to tell us about your strange experiences.
